I was so excited to make this drink as a substitute for an evening glass of wine with my hubby that I forgot to photograph the ingredients!!! Oooops. Now it’s time to sit down and relax with our Purple Green Drinks and a movie;)
Healthy Recipe Tip: I mix vegetables and smaller quantities of fruit to avoid a blood sugar spike.
Purple Passion Smoothie: Purple is the New Green Drink
Good Points: very low in saturated fat, no cholesterol, low sodium, very high in dietary fiber, very high in manganese, high in potassium, very high in vitamin A, very high in vitamin C
Bad Points: very high in natural sugar
Nutrition Facts: 56 calories, 3 calories from fat, total fat 0.3g, cholesterol 0mg, sodium 14mg, total carbohydrates 14.4g, dietary fiber 3.1g, sugars 8.9g, protein 1.1g, vitamin A 43%, vitamin C 39%, iron 4%, calcium 3% (based on a 2000 calorie diet)
- Fill container to the top with ice.
- Zap on High in the Vita-Mix for 1 minute.
- Garnish with a strawberry.
